They’re bold. They’re beautiful. The Dobermann puppy undoubtedly holds that title! To maintain their beauty takes knowledge, persistence, and care. Below is all about their physical attributes and appearance. **Size and Weight** Once the Dobermann puppy matures, he should stand between 24 to 27 inches at his shoulder. Females should stand between 22 to 25 inches… Males weigh around 115 pounds, while females weigh in around 100 pounds. Enjoying this read? You'll love our puppies. [Meet our puppies](https://www.petlandsanantonio.com/puppies-for-sale/) **Appearance** Dobermanns are muscular, powerful, athletic dogs. As we previously mentioned, their bodies are somewhat longer than they are tall. Their triangular ears sit atop their large, broadheads. The eyes are dark brown, deep-set, and beautifully shaped like almonds. They typically have their dewclaws removed and have docked tails. **Color and Coat** Dobermanns are most often black with markings over the eyes, cheeks, each side of the muzzle, the chest, legs, and beneath the tail. While rare there is red and blue coat variations. The tail area may sometimes range from rust to mahogany color. The coat of a Dobermann puppy is short in length, coarse to the touch, and straight. The undercoat is concentrated on the neck and thighs. The coat is always shorter on the head, ears, and legs than the rest of its body. **Grooming Needs** Still reading? Our puppies are waiting. Healthy, happy pups ready to meet their families — see who's available today. [Meet our puppies](https://www.petlandsanantonio.com/puppies-for-sale/) You’ll find that your Dobermann puppy will indeed shed, and pretty heavily twice a year! You should brush him at least two to three times a week to remove loose hair. Brushing also helps to distribute natural skin oils, which helps to keep their coats healthy and shiny. Bathe only as needed. **Cleaning** Brush your Dobermann puppy’s teeth twice a week to prevent tartar buildup and bad breath and to also promote healthy gums. Keep an eye on their eyes, by checking for signs of wax buildup and infections. To clean them, use a cotton ball with a cleanser approved by a vet. Under no circumstances should you use a cotton swab in the ear canal of your Dobermann puppy. Keep their nails nice and trimmed. If you follow these instructions and guidelines, your Dobermann puppy will maintain its prize-winning coats. Contact us for more information and to see the available Dobermanns we have in store! My dad got my Malti-poo from this store 6yrs ago when I was a teen. We bought him at 3mo old! He was a happy puppy. My family requested to play with him in the little cubicles and we were delighted. He was a little pricey, but he had his papers, proper shots/vaccines, and had an underbite that made him adorable. He’s doing well even today! Never gotten injured or sick. He’s expected to live the normal expectancy of a malti-poo. I don’t remember much about the store or any changes since then, but I remember that the lady helping us was nice! Here is Marshmallow! Posted on Google Charles B Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Lots of dogs for adoption, well taken care of. Also have some birds, rabbits and a few sleepy ferrits. I stopped in for some feeder fish. Very nice staff. Posted on Google Joshua B Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Loved the exotic birds Posted on Google Melinda R Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was my 2nd time back. My daughter has been wanting another set of guinea pigs. I saw the most beautiful lionhead rabbit 🐇 about 7 weeks. LORENZO educated me on their demeanor, foods etc... I was there a good while, he showed no signs of rushing me, or pushing a sale. Answered all my questions and even educated me on ferrets as i asked lol he loves his job & wish all associates were like this everywhere! I was very pleased 😀 didn't grab the rabbit as my daughter took forever to answer me, but we're leaving for vacation and would not be cool to leave him alone . We will be back! And I will only ask for him! Thank you for the great customer service! ```
