Frequently Asked Questions

Why are Chihuahuas overly protective?

It is how they are made. They are meant to be companion dogs and they will protect you with their bark when necessary.

How much exercise does a Chihuahua need?

The American Kennel Club says they need only 30 minutes of exercise daily. You really don’t have to overwork their tiny legs.

What human foods can a Chihuahua eat?

They could eat pork, chicken, eggs, potatoes, fish beef and oats.

How often should I bathe my Chihuahua?

They only need to be bathed once a month. If you do it too often, you’ll dry out their skin. You could wait longer than a month if you can keep them indoors only.

Do Chihuahuas like to be petted?

Just like every other dog, yes. They would love it when they are petted at the back of the neck, at the base of their tail and under their chin.

Why do Chihuahuas burrow under the covers?

The Chihuahua has a thin coat and he is likely to get cold much more often. Burrowing under the covers is their way of staying warm.

What foods are bad for Chihuahuas?

You should never feed your dog any of these, bacon, chocolate, milk, cheese, dairy products, onions, garlic, alcohol, caffeine, grapes, etc.

Do Chihuahuas need a lot of attention?

Yes. They want to be smothered by your attention and do not consider anything too much. They literally want to be children.

How long can a Chihuahua be left alone?

If the environment is safe, a Chihuahua can be left alone for about 9 to 10 hours. There should be water and food around though.

Do Chihuahuas suffer from separation anxiety?

Like all other dogs, yes they do. They really do not like being alone.

The Chihuahua is a small companion and watchdog suitable for older couples.

My dad got my Malti-poo from this store 6yrs ago when I was a teen. We bought him at 3mo old! He was a happy puppy. My family requested to play with him in the little cubicles and we were delighted. He was a little pricey, but he had his papers, proper shots/vaccines, and had an underbite that made him adorable. He’s doing well even today! Never gotten injured or sick. He’s expected to live the normal expectancy of a malti-poo. I don’t remember much about the store or any changes since then, but I remember that the lady helping us was nice! Here is Marshmallow!

This was my 2nd time back. My daughter has been wanting another set of guinea pigs. I saw the most beautiful lionhead rabbit 🐇 about 7 weeks. LORENZO educated me on their demeanor, foods etc... I was there a good while, he showed no signs of rushing me, or pushing a sale. Answered all my questions and even educated me on ferrets as i asked lol he loves his job & wish all associates were like this everywhere! I was very pleased 😀 didn't grab the rabbit as my daughter took forever to answer me, but we're leaving for vacation and would not be cool to leave him alone . We will be back! And I will only ask for him! Thank you for the great customer service!
